Payment & Cancellation Terms

SCOPE OF AGREEMENT
These Payment and Cancellation Terms (“Terms”) apply to all tours operated by Perretti Tours LLC, DBA Curio Italia (“Curio Italia,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking a tour with Curio Italia, each traveler agrees to these Terms, which govern payments, cancellations, refunds, and credits.
Definitions
Guest: Any individual who books, pays for, or participates in a Curio Italia tour, whether directly or through another party (such as a group leader, club, or travel organizer). “Guest” also includes anyone on whose behalf a booking is made.
Deposit: The initial payment of $50 required to confirm a reservation.
Balance: The total tour cost less the deposit.
Add-On: An optional extension or supplemental experience offered in connection with a base tour (e.g., regional extensions such as the “Puglia Add-On”). Add-Ons may have separate participation minimums and are subject to their own cancellation and refund provisions as outlined herein.
Cancellation Date: The date Curio Italia receives a written cancellation notice (via the official website form or by email, as described in the Cancellation Process). This date determines applicable refunds or credits.
Credit: A non-refundable balance retained by Curio Italia but applied toward a future tour, subject to the time limits and conditions outlined in these Terms.
Standard Booking: A reservation made more than one hundred twenty (120) days before the scheduled tour departure date. Payments follow the standard deposit and installment schedule.
Accelerated Booking: A reservation made between sixty-one (61) and one hundred twenty (120) days before the scheduled tour departure date. Guests must pay the deposit plus any missed installments within fifteen (15) days of booking.
Last-Minute Booking: A reservation made sixty (60) days or fewer before the scheduled tour departure date. The entire tour cost (deposit + balance) is due immediately at booking; and cancellations are governed by the refund/credit schedule applicable to the remaining days before departure.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE
1. DEPOSIT
A $100 deposit per reservation is required at the time of booking.
This deposit is fully refundable within 15 calendar days of booking unless there are less than 30 days until the tour’s departure.
After 15 days, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
2. BALANCE PAYMENTS
Guests may choose one of the following payment options:
Option A – Installment Plan
- Standard Bookings (more than 150 Days before departure): The remaining balance (tour price + add-ons minus deposit) is divided into three equal installments.
- 1st installment: 30 days after the booking date,
- 2nd installment: 60 days after the booking date,
- 3rd (final) installment: 90 days after the booking date.
- Accelerated Bookings (61-149 days before departure):
Same as for Standard Bookings except:Any past-due installments (based on the 30/60/90 schedule) must be paid within 15 days of booking.
Remaining payments continue on their adjusted schedule, ensuring full payment at least 60 days before departure.
- Last-Minute Booking (60 or fewer days before departure) :
- Because final payment is already due, the installment option is not available.
- All payments must be completed no later than 60 days before departure.
- A small processing fee may apply per payment under this plan. The total payment amount, including all applicable fees, will be clearly displayed during the checkout process.
- Failure to Complete Payment
All tours must be fully paid no later than sixty (60) days before departure. If payment is not received in full by that time:
Curio Italia reserves the right to cancel the reservation and release the guest’s spot to another traveler.
All payments made up to that date will be treated according to the cancellation schedule applicable on the date the payment became overdue.
If the payment shortfall occurs within sixty (60) days of departure, the guest will be considered to have canceled under the 0–30 day policy (non-refundable, with applicable credit as outlined).
Curio Italia may, at its sole discretion, offer a brief grace period (typically not more than seven (7) days) to allow completion of payment before cancellation takes effect.
- Standard Bookings (more than 150 Days before departure): The remaining balance (tour price + add-ons minus deposit) is divided into three equal installments.
Option B – Pay in Full
- The entire balance is due at the time of booking (price shown includes $ 100 deposit per reservation, the tour price and any add-ons).
- After 15 days, the deposit is non-refundable, but all other payments are refundable or credited according to the cancellation schedule. NOTE: Deposits for bookings made with less than 30 days are non-refundable.

OPTIONAL ADD-ONS
1. Separate Minimums
Optional Add-On tour elements (such as regional extensions, culinary packages, or special excursions) may have their own minimum participation requirements separate from the base tour.
If the minimum for an Add-On is not met, only the Add-On portion will be canceled, and guests will receive a 100% refund of payments made toward that Add-On.
2. Curio Italia Obligations
Curio Italia will provide notice of cancellation of an optional Add-On no later than sixty (60) days prior to the base tour departure.
If notice is not provided at least 60 days in advance, Curio Italia will be obligated to operate the Add-On as scheduled, regardless of minimum participation.
3. Liability
- Refund of the Add-On payment will be the sole obligation of Curio Italia in the event the Add-On is canceled. No further compensation, reimbursement, or damages will be owed.

4. Add-On Modifications & Substitutions
Add-Ons are designed to enhance the Guest’s experience, but the format of an Add-On (e.g., private vs. group tour, or the specific provider used) may vary depending on group size, availability, and operational requirements.
Curio Italia reserves the right to substitute or modify the manner in which an Add-On is delivered, provided that the core experience (e.g., admission and guided tour of the Vatican Museums) is substantially fulfilled.
Examples include:
If only one or two Guests purchase an Add-On, Curio Italia may arrange participation in a third-party group tour instead of a private tour.
If sufficient Guests register for the Add-On, Curio Italia may provide a dedicated private experience.
Such substitutions will not be considered a breach of these Terms, and Guests remain entitled only to the experience purchased, not to a specific format of delivery (unless explicitly stated in the tour description).
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

2. Date of Cancellation

The effective cancellation date is the date on which Curio Italia receives written notice of cancellation.

If using the online form, a confirmation email will be automatically generated and sent to the guest; this timestamp will serve as the official cancellation date.

If using direct email, the time stamp of the received message on Curio Italia’s server will be considered the official cancellation date.

3. Confirmation of Cancellation

Guests will receive an email confirmation within 3 business days of cancellation, verifying the request has been processed.

Guests are responsible for ensuring they receive this confirmation; if no confirmation is received, they must promptly contact Curio Italia.

4. Refund Processing

Refunds (where applicable under the cancellation schedule) will be issued within 20 business days of cancellation confirmation.

Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment unless otherwise agreed.

Refund and Credit Policy
Should you need to cancel your Curio Italia reservation, the amount of possible refund or credit is determined by the timing of your booking and time period remaining until departure. All credits must be applied to a future tour within 24 months of the original departure date and are subject to availability.
DEPOSIT:
- Full Refund if within 15 days of booking AND at least 30 days before departure.
- All other times the deposit is non-refundable.
ALL OTHER PAYMENTS (Total Payments minus Deposit)
- 121+ days before departure: All payments refunded.
- 91–120 days before departure: 50% of balance payments refunded.
- 61–90 days before departure: 25% of balance payments refunded plus 25% of balance payments credited toward a future Curio Italia tour.
- 31–60 days before departure: No refund; however, 50% of balance payments credited toward a future Curio Italia tour.
- 0–30 days before departure: No refund; however, 25% of balance payments credited toward a future Curio Italia tour.
